This 19-credit program is designed to develop and enhance general education and technical skills of entry-level employees in the Puget Sound Naval Shipyard (PSNS). It prepares participants for entry into the more comprehensive shipyard apprenticeship program and/or permits students to maintain continued employment as Helpers in an assigned specific trade area.

INDTT 101 - Helper Trade Fundamentals Credits: 2
INDTT 106 - Helper Trades Math & Measurements Credits: 2
OLRM 150 - Improving Human Effectiveness Credits: 2
TEC-D 103 - Applied Blueprint Reading Credits: 3
MATH 091 - Prealgebra Credits: 5
Needs to be within the last 6 years with a grade of 2.0 or better, or satisfactory placement score to enter Math 094. If the Math requirement has been met, the student may substitute credits for a college-level course that has application to Industrial Trades as approved by a faculty advisor.
BSTEC 145 - Business Writing/Grammar for the Workplace Credits: 5
or assessment at college-level reading and writing. If the English requirement has been met, the student may substitute credits for a college-level course that has some application to Industrial Trades as approved by a faculty advisor.
