ENGL& 245 - American Literature II Credits: 5
(H/DSJ) After the Civil War, the push and pull of events and beliefs continued to shape America: Reconstruction and Redemption, immigration and migration, industrialization and war, the American Dream and consumer culture. The tension between tradition and modernization permeated 20th and 21st century America. But what did those traditions represent and what does change mean? English&245 is a literary journey through the American landscapes as a variety of authors examine American culture through various literary movements, genres, and lenses. Formerly ENGL 261
