Natural Science Basic principles of nutrition emphasizing the physiological requirements for proteins, lipids, carbohydrates, vitamins, and minerals; their sources; their relationship to metabolism, nutritional status, and common health problems. A brief introduction to naturopathic medicine is included.

Prerequisite: ENGL 099, MATH 090 all with a grade of 2.0 or better OR equivalent assessment (Accuplacer) test scores in these areas. Recommended: BIOL& 160, BIOL& 175, CHEM& 121.
