BASBH 400 - Case Management Credits: 5
This course teaches the principles, practices, and issues in healthcare/human services case management with an emphasis on communication, evaluation, and intervention strategies. Topics include assessment skills, planning, assessment of client/patients’ needs, ethics, setting appropriate boundaries, working with individuals with different culture/values, and different case management models. The practice of case management in healthcare/human services is a professional and collaborative process that assesses, plans, implements, coordinates, monitors, and evaluates the options and services required to meet an individual’s needs. Students also will learn to facilitates the achievement of individual’s wellness and autonomy through advocacy, resource management based on the needs and value, and achieve optimum value and desirable outcomes for all stakeholders.
Prerequisite: Admission to BASBH program. 5 hours Lecture
