PTA 121 - PTA Procedures: Postural Control and Gait

The course provides the student with skills for posture, balance, and gait assessment along with instruction in corrective measures for each. Gait training education including use of assistive and adaptive devices is presented. Functional components relating to ADL’s, self-care and home, community and work environments are addressed at a basic skill level. Laboratory components are presented concurrent to lecture material.

Prerequisite: Passing grade in all prior Physical Therapist Assistant courses.
