AEGS 100 - Intro to American Ethnic Studies Credits: 5
(H/SS/DSJ) This course is an introduction to American Ethnic Studies. An interdisciplinary emphasis is placed on examining the knowledge traditions, cultural expressions, and resistance movements of Black, Indigenous, and people of color. By analyzing race, gender, sexuality, and other forms of social difference through their unique and shared contexts of meaning and power, students will draw connections across historical experiences to understand our contemporary moment and to uncover entryways for envisioning and enacting the future. Prerequisite: Any of the following are recommended but NOT required: AEGS 101, ENGL&101, or SOC& 101. 5 hours Lecture
