AEGS 204 - Intro to Asian American Studies Credits: 5
(H/SS/DSJ) This course is an introduction to the interdisciplinary field of Asian American studies. An emphasis is placed on examining the cultural expressions, historical experiences, and contemporary social issues that gave rise to and continue to shape Asian American identities and communities. Topics may include literature, history, politics, activism, pop culture, im/migration, citizenship, labor, gender, sexuality, coalition-building, war, imperialism, sovereignty, globalization, and post/colonialisms. Prerequisite: Any of the following are recommended but NOT required: AEGS 100, AEGS 101, ENGL&101, or SOC& 101.
