ABHT 117 - Cultural Competency and Individualized Care

This class is 20 planned hours and aims to prepare students for a career in substance use disorder treatment services. An introduction to topics including cultural diversity including people with disabilities and implications for treatment. HIV/AIDS and infectious disease brief risk intervention for people with substance use disorder. Becoming equipped with how to deliver culturally relevant services that as Behavioral Health Providers. The course will offer an introduction of crisis intervention theories and skills and techniques to assist the student in recognizing concepts of crisis management.
