CS 296 - Computer Science Career Seminar Credits: 2
This course reviews a variety of computer science careers and reflects on their associated skill requirements and professional responsibilities, mapping these to educational requirements and ethical implications. Students create or refine a professional persona including resume and online portfolio, identify local professional networks and networking events, and investigate graduate education, community-based learning, internship, and mentorships. The course will cover all life stages of searching for and obtaining employment in the field of computer science, including how to prepare for a technical interview, how to negotiate your first salary, and how to keep the job you just landed.
Prerequisite: CS 143 Computer Science II Java 20
