The Olympic College Associate in Applied Science in Radiologic Technology program empowers and equips graduates for employment as entry-level radiologic technologists in seven quarters. Graduates of this program will earn the AAS in Radiologic Technology which qualifies candidates to sit for the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) national exam. The curriculum provides a well-rounded blend of general education, specialized radiologic technology instruction, and immersive clinical training. Accepted students will engage in more than 1400 hours of hands-on clinical education, integral to their professional development.
Admission
Application and admission to the Radiologic Technology Program is a separate procedure, based on a factoring system, in addition to the application to Olympic College. Program Outcomes
Upon successful completion of this program, a student will be able to:
- Demonstrate appropriate positioning, sequencing, and critical thinking skills for routine and non-routine exams.
- Compare and critique images to successfully evaluate image quality and positioning.
- Operate all imaging equipment to provide radiation protection to all patients and healthcare staff.
- Exhibit effective oral and written communication in a clinical and educational setting.
- Select appropriate technical factors that focus on patient centered care.
