H - Humanities Intercultural Communication centers on the importance of culture in our everyday lives and communication practices. This course is designed to increase students’ awareness of and sensitivity to other cultures, their own cultural backgrounds, and the social, political, cultural, and historical contexts in which they live and communicate. This course will teach students to communicate effectively in the increasingly culturally diverse and interdependent society. Included content areas are an introduction to major intercultural communication theories and principles, and the application of these principles in local and global contexts.
