This program provides the coursework and hour requirements to qualify for the Washington State Esthetics written and practical licensing exam. Topics include general sciences, skin care, facials, advanced facial services using modern technology and equipment, temporary hair removal, lash and brow enhancements, basic makeup application and business practices. Coursework will be taught in a combination of online, classroom, and lab settings.
Program Learning Outcomes
- Demonstrate written and practical skills required for the application process to obtain state licensure.
- Perform industry employability skills such as punctuality, reliability, decision-making, integrity, and leadership.
- Respect the need to deliver worthy service for value received in an employer-employee relationship as well as a Professional Skin Therapist - Guest relationship.
- Perform basic industry skills in the areas of care of the skin, facial massage, facial services using modern technology and equipment, the safe application of makeup, various methods of temporary hair removal and lash/brow enhancements.
- Perform the basic analytical skills to determine proper use of skin care products, facial equipment, makeup, and temporary hair removal applications for the client’s overall image.
- Observe state safety and sanitation laws and regulations and use appropriate protective measures to provide a safe working environment.
