Technical Design, CR

This certificate includes an introduction to the core skills necessary for those wishing to advance an existing technical career with basic graphic communicationand design skills. The certificate is designed to provide basic drafting skills as well as provide improved blue print reading skills and to enhance 3- dimensional visualization. 

Program Learning Outcomes

 Upon successful completion of this program, students will be able to:

1. Interpret multi-view orthographic drawings and 3-dimensional blueprint drawings.
2. Use graphic standards to communicate technical designs.
3. Produce either two-dimensional or three-dimensional technical sketches used as a precursor to manual or computer-aided drafting.
4. Produce multi-view orthographic and pictorial drawings using manual drafting techniques.
5. Produce multi-view computer-aided drafted drawings using various CAD programs.
6. Produce 3-D digital modeling solids using advanced computer-aided drafting techniques.
7. Export digital solid models appropriate for the 3-D printing manufacturing process.
