History is the study of human development and change, current affairs with the perspective of past events, and the rich cultural, political, and institutional legacy of the past that provides the framework for a better understanding of our world.
Students who intend to major in history at a four-year institution should follow the distribution for an Associate in Arts Degree, preparing themselves to transfer by completing a broad range of Social Sciences and Humanities courses. Good writing skills are essential and should be developed. Students should work closely with an advisor at the baccalaureate institution they plan to transfer to before analyzing their education plan.

Note
