This program introduces the basic business skills of marketing, small business planning, financial analysis, and E-business strategies. It is uniquely designed to accompany an individual’s previous experience and/or training in other professional fields and supports the transition to small business management or self-employment ventures. Prior accounting coursework or relevant business experience is strongly recommended and a student must be capable of completing research and writing at a level that can meet professional business standards.
Program Learning Outcomes
Upon successful completion of this program, students will be able to:
- Develop an effective marketing plan to promote a small business (BMGMT 149 & BMGMT 180)
- Write a basic business plan for a small business venture (BMGMT 203)
- Identify strategies that can assist a business in developing customer relationships (BMGMT 185)
- Identify components that contribute to the success of running a profitable small business (BMGMT 146 & BMGMT 203)
