CS 243 - Software Development Tools

(NS) Students will learn the tools of modern software development from the ground up. This begins by learning to use an industry standard editor, along with its efficiency-boosting AI-powered capabilities. Students will learn to organize their code and development processes with a version control system. They will also learn to work on code hosted on remote Linux boxes via (Secure Socket Shell)SSH and how to configure continuous integration and continuous delivery (CI/CD) pipeline to deploy code to production environments. In short, students will learn a variety of tools for working with code, managing it, moving it from place to place, and for automating such processes.

Prerequisite: CS& 141 or CIS 142
